About Me

My name is Clara Louie. To my birth family, I am called by my Chinese  name, Lai Fong, which means “beauty and fragrance”. I was born and raised in Macau and received my higher education in Canada before moving to the U.S. as a young adult. I am a wife and a mother to two young adult sons, whom I homeschooled through high school. I live in Ardmore PA, outside of Philadelphia, with my husband and our rescued pug.

After completing my graduate studies and seminary education in Toronto, I served in a Chinese church and then as a family and marriage therapist in various settings in Philadelphia before becoming a stay-at-home mom and homeschooler. As I moved through these different geographical locations and vocations, I was simultaneously moving through my own spiritual journey with God. After hitting “the wall” through a major burnout in ministry, I was led to a deeper place in my spiritual journey where I was invited to play for the first time with God my Father as His beloved child. I was invited to explore and embrace my identity as His beloved. Out of the deep experience of God’s love and intimacy with Him in the midst of hiddenness and brokenness, I sensed a call to come alongside others in their spiritual journeys as they attune to His deep love and presence in their lives.

I received my Spiritual Direction Certificate through Leadership Transformations’ Selah Program and my Master of Divinity from Tyndale Seminary in Canada. I have a certificate for coaching with the Enneagram of Christlike Virtues from Mosaic Formation and Spiritual Formation Society of Arizona.

A hike in nature and a soul conversation with friends both bring me joy and restore my soul.
